There are a variety of scholarships, such as the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships, the Honors Scholarship for Independently-Financed International Students (Gakusyu-shorei), private scholarships that require a university recommendation, and grant-type (and some loan-type) private scholarships that international students can apply for directly. Nagoya University has several dormitories for international students. The application requirement and the period of residence varies according to programs. In the case that your pogram is available to apply, the application instructions will be given from the Student Affairs Division of your school.
You have to apply through the NU system by yourself to register your bike.

Generally 3 or 4 times the value of one month’s rent will be necessary for moving to a private apartment in Japan, so be sure to prepare enough money.

If you are a student with "Student" status, you have to obtain "Permission to Engage in Activity Other Than That Permitted Under the Status of Residence Previously Granted" to work on a part-time basis, so please check the "Part-time job" page thoroughly beforehand.
You can find jobs on job websites, through classified newspapers, as well as through friends and acquaintances. Part-time job information is also available on bulletin boards at the Nagoya University Coop.
